Around 1840, students in English private schools came up with games

that resemble modern football. In 1863, the first football association in the world was founded. Since then, rules have appeared that prohibit picking up the ball and holding an opponent. The first football championship was held in England. In 1871, the association held a football cup called the Challenge Cap. And in 1872 the first international football match was held: England played with Scotland. The match ended with a score 0: 0.
