I found the animation, which, in my opinion, describes the quote
“ A hero would sacrifice you to save the world but a villain would sacrifice the world to save you”

they are allowed to go to extremes. They are allowed to put their love over the greater good. They are allowed to be selfish. The best a hero can offer you is number two, because their duty comes first. Villians will burn down the world for a last kiss goodbye.
Maybe the “burn the world for you” dynamic has some interest to it, but that kind of attachment never feels healthy to me. More dramatic, sure—but not better.
The most epic romance is the moment when the hero sees their lover before them and knows that they have to lose them. Even if they were willing to make that decision, their lover would be consumed with guilt if the hero sacrificed the world for them.
