Was born in 1940 in the village

Manchenko near Kharkiv.
Graduated from the Kharkiv Hydrometeorological College, worked for two years in Siberia.
After that he entered Moscow State University, graduated from the basic course (1967) and the post-graduate studies (1970) at the Faculty of Philology of the Moscow State University, Department of Structural and Applied Linguistics.
He knew six foreign languages - English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian.
Most of them he studied by himself.

translation that were published in the magazine "Vsesvit" (1989, for translation from the English novel "The Creation of the World" by Gorda Vidal).
Laureate of the Skovoroda Award 2004, which the French Embassy notes is the best translation of the year from French into Ukrainian (Michel Foucault's book "Archeology of Knowledge," the title "Fundamentals").
Laureate of the Maxim Rylsky 2009 Award of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine for the best translation of the year.
