Mendenhall Glacier, Ice Cave

is a federally protected 12 mile long glacier in the Mendenhall Valley. It is recognized by the impressive caves it carries inside called the Ice Caves. To reach this caves, you will have to kayak, hike and climb the glacier. Not many people actually do this excursion but it is mesmerizing the view you will experience.

As the glacier keeps melting, this cave will soon disappear. The crazy thing is that as the Mendenhall Glacier melt and some caves disappear, a new panorama is forming, the Mendenhall Lake.
