THE DEVELOPMENT OF ITS CULTURE

The Culture and Community collection contains more

than 60,000 artifacts representing the material culture of Colorado from American Indian peoples, the early Hispanic populations of the region after Spanish contact, and the people who have continually immigrated to Colorado, particularly from the 19th century to the present day.
American Indian tribes lived there, discovering and creating the trails, peaks, wildlife wonders, waterfalls and hot springs.
The love of the outdoors has influenced painters, sculptors, songwriters, jewellery makers and indeed chefs.
