The liberal democratic party of Russia (LDPR)

political party in the Russian Federation. Since its Foundation, it has positioned itself as an opposition party.
It is the direct successor of the liberal democratic party of the Soviet Union, established on December 13, 1989. The LDPR is one of three Russian political parties that participated in the election of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in all seven convocations, and one of two parties that always received representation in the lower house of Parliament as a result of elections.

The highest governing body of the LDPR is the party Congress, which is responsible for electing the Supreme Council and the party Chairman.
