The liberal democratic party of Russia (LDPR) is an officially registered

political party in the Russian Federation. Since its Foundation, it has positioned itself as an opposition party.
It is the direct successor of the liberal democratic party of the Soviet Union, established on December 13, 1989. The LDPR is one of three Russian political parties that participated in the election of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in all seven convocations, and one of two parties that always received representation in the lower house of Parliament as a result of elections.

the Soviet Union into the liberal democratic party of Russia at the third Congress of the political party (April 18-19, 1992). Fulfilling the requirements of the Federal law "on political parties" adopted in 2001, the LDPR was reorganized from an all-Russian socio-political party into a political party by the decision of the XIII party Congress (December 13, 2001).
