in 1878 in the city of wolfenbüttel in Saxony, Germany, where lived mast family - owners of winery - Kurt Junior. Mast was known as an excellent wine - tester and great experimentor. Together with father they created the recipe of a new perfect product choosing different herbs,roots, flowers and leaves.
Finally in 1934 after long work and a lot of experiments the new legendary liqueur had been created. Kurt Mast dedicated his liqueur to the hunters and their traditions, because for many, many years in Europe hunting was very popular and there was a ceremony to celebrate fishing of hunting with drinking. There after for this occasion is being used "Jägermeister" bitter.
