The lyrics were written by Mohamed yonis al

qady.
The anthem was originally composed by Sayed Darwish , who maintained close ties with the early leaders of the national movement of independence.
It was later re-composed by Mohamed abdulwahab in 1979.
It was adopted in 1980.

mustafa kamel, a member of the independence movement and a revolutionary, the speech was given in 1907
“My homeland,my homeland,my homeland. You have my love and heart…you have my life and existence, my blood,my mind and tongue, for you is my core and soul. Because you’re life…and there’s no life except in you Egypt.”

Egypt has had four national anthem prior to

the current one.
The first anthem was (اسلمي يا مصر) or (may you be peaceful Egypt) 1923-1936
The second anthem was (نشيد الحرية) or (the freedom poem) 1952-1960
The third anthem was (والله زمان يا سلاحي) or (by God it’s been long o’ my weapon) 1960-1979
The fourth and current anthem is (بلادي بلادي) or (my homeland,my homeland) 1980-present
