most population city in California. It lies on the Northern End of Peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay.

The History Of The City.
San Francisco was founded in the

18th century by Spanish. Before the Gold Rush it was a tiny settlement. The rush brought crowds of people to the city and its surroundings. In 1906 an earthquake and then a fire destroyed the city but it rebuilt itself even into a larger city.
