FAIR RUSSIA IS AN OFFICIALLY REGISTERED CENTER-LEFT OPPOSITION PARTY IN RUSSIA, DECLARING THE IDEOLOGY OF SOCIAL DEMOCRACY AND MODERNIZED SOCIALISM. IT WAS FORMED AT THE CONSTITUENT CONGRESS ON OCTOBER 28, 2006. THE CHAIRMAN AND LEADER OF THE PARTY IS SERGEY MIRONOV. HISTORY OF CREATION: On March 24, 2006, the deputy head of the presidential administration, Vladislav Surkov, met with the chairman of the Russian Party of Life, Sergei Mironov, and 30 deputies, members of the Russian Party of Life. At the meeting, Surkov first openly formulated the idea of building a two-party system in the country, in which, depending on the circumstances, the Kremlin could rely on one of two system-forming parties.
On August 29, 2006, the first document was signed at the press center of the “Argumenty & Fakty” weekly, which laid the foundation for the creation of a new party - the Agreement “On the Basic Principles for the Unification of the Rodina Party, the Russian Party of Life and the Russian Party of Pensioners”. The agreement was signed by party leaders: Sergey Mironov, Alexander Babakov and Igor Zotov.
On October 28, 2006, the 7th congress of the Rodina party took place, which decided to rename it to the Just Russia: Homeland / Pensioners / Life party. On the same day, almost simultaneously at the congresses of the Russian Party of Life and the Russian Party of Pensioners, decisions were made to terminate the activities of the parties and to join the party "Fair Russia:" Motherland / Pensioners / Life "."
By the decision of the Party Chairman, the date of October 28, 2006 was recognized as the Birthday of the Just Russia Party.
