Britain. It is a public research university in Cardiff, Wales. It was founded in 1883 as the University College of South Wales. In 1997 it received its own degree-awarding powers. Cardiff University is the third oldest university institution in Wales containing three colleges: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Biomedical and Life Sciences; and Physical Sciences and Engineering.

the University's main building, administrative facilities, the science library and 26 academic schools of the University. A number of University academic facilities are located at the Heath Park campus.
Most of the University's sports facilities are located at the sports training village in the Talybont Halls complex. This includes facilities for football, badminton, basketball, tennis, hockey and gym. Additional gym facilities and squash courts are located at the university fitness and squash center. Extensive playing fields for Rugby and football are located at the University playing fields.
